Clovis High School swim team will be going against Buchanan High School on March 23 starting at 3:30 PM.

Peter Tragitt, the head coach of the girls and boys swim team, has been preparing his swimmers for this meet by “making the boys wear boardshorts and the girls wear leggings for two weeks.” The tactic that Tragitt is using is meant to create drag when the athletes swim so that they can build more muscle. When the athletes swim in this upcoming meet they will be swimming without this drag for the first time in two weeks so they will feel more powerful in the water.

The meet against Buchanan is not a big meet according to Tragitt but “the date is a good place for us [the swim team] in regards to our training cycle” because of the new muscle the swimmers have obtained. Tragitt is anticipating the relay races the most because when it comes to Buchanan it is the race that Clovis High and Buchanan are the most equally matched in.

All in all, Tragitt just wants “to see everyone get faster and make as many CIF times as possible.”
